The Weekender
What is the Weekender session?
The Weekender session is a 3-hour shoot that takes place before the day of your event, in a casual setting unique to you. This provides a more complete picture of your love story and is meant to reflect your life outside of your wedding day. The footage we capture is integrated into the final highlight film you receive after your wedding.
How do we prepare?
If your package includes the Weekender, we’ll schedule a 20-minute call dedicated to brainstorming concepts, locations and logistics. This planning phase ensures that we make the most of our time together on the day of the shoot.
The session can be tailored to anything you want to showcase, so take time to consider what you love to do together. We can film you cooking at home with your dogs, or getting happy hour at the bar where you first met. Perhaps you love adventuring through the city, or hiking to your favorite vista. It’s entirely up to you!
FAQs
You have questions,
we have answers
-
Super 8 is a film format from the 1960’s. I absolutely love the look of super 8 because it embodies the imperfect. Mixing it with digital video adds a level of timelessness, softness, and authenticity. Plus seeing what comes out after it’s developed is thrilling. The colors, the light, the grain – yes, please. We’re talking about real film here and I think that is super cool. I offer shooting super 8 at a wedding as an add-on to my packages.

It’s recommended to book at least 12–14 months in advance of your event to secure your date. Sometimes I can accommodate last-minute requests, so please don’t hesitate to inquire.
-
Once you fill out and submit the contact form, I’ll respond within 24 hours to schedule a consultation. If we decide to work together, you’ll be provided with a contract and an invoice for a 50% deposit. Your date is officially secured the moment you sign the contract and pay the deposit.
The remaining balance is due 1-month before your event date. Dates are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and can only be secured once the two steps above are completed. After that, you’re in!

I am based out of Portland, Oregon. I'm always down to travel. Filming in a new place is always incredibly inspiring.

Lovebug never outsources editing. This means every wedding is edited by our lead director, Lauren. She will be there for you throughout the entire process from start to finish.

Music is one of the most important aspects of your wedding film and should be chosen with intention. During our pre-wedding planning, we’ll discuss the genres of music you love, your favorite artists and the vibe you’re going for. This ensures that when it comes time to hand-pick music from my music-licensing software, I’ll know what resonates with you.

Yes! I give couples the option to purchase the raw footage from their wedding, but keep in mind that it won’t be color graded or audio-mixed, unless requested.

You should expect to receive your highlight film about 6 months after your wedding date.
